Pastor Robin Anderson came to Commonwealth from University Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where she was Associate Pastor for Education and Outreach for seven years. While there, she helped groups of all ages connect with each other, learn and grow in their faith, and serve their communities. Robin uses her gifts and talents to minister, serve, and lead at Commonwealth in a manner that is relational, authentic, and creative.
Originally from North Carolina, Robin received a BFA in Theater Performance from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Robin earned an MDiv from the McAfee School of Theology and later served as the Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care and Senior Adults at the First Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia.
She has had a sermon featured in “This is What a Preacher Looks Like: Sermons by Baptist Women in Ministry,” a book published by Smith and Helwys. Robin enjoys reading, family time, running, and hiking, and she finds immense joy in watching her children explore and engage the world.
Pastor Marty Anderson came to Commonwealth from University Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served as Associate Pastor for College Ministries for seven years. At UBC, he organized and taught, counseled and led a weekly informal service for 80-100 college students that included music, testimonies, Scripture readings, and a message. In addition, he led student mission trips to Costa Rica, Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, and Atlanta. At Commonwealth, he has drawn on his rich college experience as a Centrifuge camp worship leader by helping lead our youth group on their summer trip to Passport Camp in Wingate, NC.
Born in Saltillo, Mississippi, Marty holds a degree in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University and his MDiv from the McAfee School of Theology. In addition to spending time with his family, Marty enjoys playing guitar (sometimes even in our services!) and watching college football, particularly his alum team, Mississippi State.
