Serve outside the Church
We prepare & serve dinner at Carpenter's Shelter on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
We also get involved when we learn of needs, particularly in our community.
Some ways that we have engaged are:
donating to and collecting food for Blessings in a Backpack at Naomi Brooks Elementary School
participating in the Volunteer Alexandria Back to School Drives and Holiday Toy Drives

partnering with Alive! by raising funds and assisting with the monthly food distributions
participating with The Jubilee Project, a local organization that raises funds to purchase medical debt on behalf of people living far below the poverty line
contributing to ScholarCHIP, an organization that offers college scholarships to children with incarcerated parents

holding a thermometer drive when the Alexandria Health Department needed thermometers to give away at COVID testing centers
We also encourage members of our faith community to educate themselves about social issues and to put their faith into practice by actively engaging as they feel led.
